Jesus quotes scripture numerous times
READY TO CAUSE SOME TROUBLE?

Temptations
The 3 times Jesus was being tempted by Satan, he used Scripture to fight for his faith. For every time the devil approaches him with a different temptation, Jesus recited scripture he had memorized. (Matthew 4:1-11)
Confrontation
Jesus was confident in his confrontations and he quoted scripture often as his motives here too. In fact, in almost every chapter of John he is in a confrontation with someone and in Matthew he uses offensive language as he pronounced woes to the pharisee.
Violence
Whoever said Jesus is not violent is WRONG (John 2:15-16). His passion was so steep that he took the time to make a whip out of ropes to drive people out. Some translations use the word scourge. On more than one occasion, Jesus demonstrated his commitment to cleansing the temple by even staying all afternoon to make sure nobody passed through to trade or sell.
Sinless
In his pursuit of a closer relationship with God, King David would memorize scripture. (Psalm 119:11) He shares this in one of the most beautiful, longest Psalm he wrote (and the longest chapter in the Bible)!
If you memorized one verse every week, you would have memorized more than 50 in a year. Who could you be next year? What would your faith look like?
